You tried waiting until stress value is at least double the amount shown in the bar? The other bars have about that much leeway before you die.
i remember when the bar was red i waited still like 5 minutes i was also recording because i wanted to see the result and upload it on yt
later i died of thirst
if you want you can try longer but im really sure nothing happens
Why should it be removed? It’s not a bad mechanic and gives a good reason to do some of the more quirky stuff in the game, not to mention stuff that is still coming (at least smoking and easier access to coffee).

I tried it myself. You will die from stress if you wait long enough (I used the MSC Editor to make the process quicker).

Not a fan of the stress bar, to be honest. I realise some game mechanic is needed to not make the sauna obsolete (it is a key part of being Finnish, after all), but while the other health bars have gameplay associated with them, the stress bar only feels contrived.
My suggestion would be to make it go waaayyy slower, like 1/3 or less of its current build-up speed. Then make coffee available at the house, and the more you supress your fatigue with it, the quicker the stress bar goes up. Stress should also reduce slightly when you sleep.
In-between sleeping and waiting for the sauna to heat up, I just feel like I can’t really get anything done anymore before I have to go home. I’ve already died of stress once while pumping sewage.
