I’ve been thinking for a long time about uploading this body. The morph from the rear fender is not good if pulled out fully. If you do not like the body, you do not have to use it, but maybe one or the other is happy about it.

Automation B1414 is now Live!

This one has been a little more slow and complex to develop than expected, but after a long 3 months (4 really, but one was taken up with our first holiday in 4 years!) B1414 is now live for everyone. This update brings more complete car design aspects, along with car designer scenarios and a much improved user interface. There are also quite a few more new car bodies to base your designs from.

What’s next?

The next few months will be dedicated to some fairly unexciting but very important work, ready for release on Steam. We’ll be making major improvements aimed at making Automation more polished, easier to learn, and all around more professional looking. More improvements to UI and the process of model designing will make it much more logical and simple to design a big range of models based on one particular car. Pop-ups/Tooltips will be added for many thing, and tutorial videos will be done/redone covering every techincal part of the game. We’ll also be aiming to add a bunch of improved multiplayer modes, including Lap Time and Rally Stage Time challenge modes, with the ability to set your scores over the a few days, so you don’t need to all be online together to compete.This update will be the first one to release on Steam, which is an exciting milestone, and will hopefully bring in more sales allowing us to bring further people on to work on car body art and other new content, And after this update is out of the way, it’s finally time to start work on the Tycoon aspect of things!

Modding of the legacy Kee Engine version is possible, but discouraged, as this version is no longer in development.

You will need to download and install the UE4 Editor (version 4.24) from here: https://www.unrealengine.com/download

Make sure to download the correct version. We do not use the latest version of UE4.

Do not install the UE4 Editor to Program Files. Instead, install it to a custom location without a space in it, like C:\UE4\UE_4xx or similar.

Installing the SDK [ ]

It is recommended to copy the AutomationGame project to another folder before using it. This eliminates the risk of mod files being overwritten or erased in the event of an SDK update.

Browse to the location of the modding SDK in your Steam Tools library (by default, this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automation_SDK ), and copy the project folder to a new location (with no spaces in the file path).

Performance of fixtures and bodies in UE4 is a heated topic. While it is true that in terms of mesh rendering and draw calls, there is practically zero performance impact for meshes with less than 2,000 polygons, the same cannot be said for shader rendering or fixture stamping.

I’ve been interested in making new car bodies and possibly some fixtures so i downloaded the UE4 engine, and editor. and have downloaded the Automation SDK tools.

At this moment i haven’t been able to make anything because when i open the Automationgame.Unproject. it loads the automation load icon, and loads fine up to 45% where it freezes, and doesn’t progress any further and stays at 45% infinitely no matter how much time is given.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to properly set everything up in order to make plugins for automation, and if so if you can throw in some simple basic tips for making bodies and such.

The first time loading it can take a very long time and it does usually seem to freeze at exactly 45% but it shouldn’t be stuck there infinitely. You might have a very slow hard drive or not enough memory or something. For me the first time loading it took maybe 10 minutes.

If you do get it to load eventually, there is a modding wiki at https://automation.gamepedia.com/Modding but some of it might be outdated or not have enough information. You can also join the official discord chat to ask questions. It’s easier to answer specific questions there than to give any kind of generic advice here.

I mean, i wouldn’t think my PC is slow, although i did build it 4 years ago almost now.

It’s got a I5-4690k, GTX-970, and 16gb of ram with a 1TB hard drive.
Maybe the age is getting to it, idk
There are some programs now that i can’t really run anymore at a high grade sadly.
I can’t even run Ultra or high on BF5 which is a bummer. I get 144fps on it, but it stutters so bad to where it’s unplayable most of the time and i’ve heard it’s because my CPU can’t handle it which is unfortunate.

But perhaps you’re right
I’ll try again tomorrow on my day off and see what happens, maybe i do need to upgrade soon.

The only «experiance» i have with 3D design or if you can call it that. is using the hammer editor for source games, and i think i’ve been able to make «Acceptable» maps with it while trying to keep it FPS friendly.

That’s exactly the same as I have so it can’t be that. :/

The best advice I can think of on the 3d side of things is get Blender and find some beginner tutorials for it before trying to mod Automation, and don’t start with car bodies, they’re difficult. Start with simple fixtures like grilles to get the hang of it. Making maps for Source engine games will help you make photo scenes for Automation, because it’s just like building a level for any other game, but not really helpful for body or fixture mods.
