Payments

How Much I Have to Pay to Hire a Car?

If you are looking to hire a car, then you would need to pay the price of the rental and pay the deposit of AED 1500 before you hire a car. After making all the deductions, the security would be refunded

What About the Toll Fee (Salik)?

All our cars come with Salik stickers. Salik is the toll authority of UAE where the fee is deducted automatically, when you pass through the toll gates. AED 5 would be deducted every time you pass through Salik gates. The toll would be deducted from your deposit.

Please note that 5% tax rate would be applicable on service charge of Drivus Cars Rental LLC.

Who Will Pay the Fines?

All the fines incurred during the rental period would have to paid by the customer. An additional AED 20 would be charged by Drivus as an acknowledgement fee.

How Old Do I Have to Be to Rent a Car?

You need to be 25 years old, at the minimum, to rent a car in Dubai from Drivus.

How is the Rental Period Calculated?

Drivus charges rent on a 24-hour basis. We do allow a grace period of 2 hours on the return date. So, if you hired the car at 11 AM, you would need to return the car before 1 PM on the return date.

Please note that in case of any delay beyond the grace period, you would be charged an extra-day’s rent.

To get the pickup service on the return date, you should inform us about the location and the timing at least 4 hours prior the pick-up time.

Should I Fill Up the Tank When I Return?

Not necessarily. We request you to return the car with the same fuel level as it was when you hired it.

If the fuel level is significantly lower than it was when you hired it, then you might be charged extra for it.

What is the Mileage Allowance?

For daily/weekly rentals: 250 KM per day and weekly 1750 KM. Anything beyond that would be charged at AED 0.50 per KM

For Monthly Rentals: If you have rented the car for a month then you the monthly mileage allowance would be 4500 KM. You would be charged AED 0.50 per KM after that.

Insurance

Are the cars insured?

All the cars from Drivus are insured. Please note the cars are insured for driving on paved roads for driving within the UAE.

What Happens if the Vehicle is in Total Loss?

If the car is damaged beyond repair, then following charges would need to be paid

However, if you buy the Super Collison Damage Waiver (SCDW), you would be able to avoid the charges.

Do I Need to Get a Police Report?

It is mandatory that you file a police report. Otherwise, you would be liable to pay all the repair costs even if you have bought the SCDW.

What is Covered Under the Insurance?

Windshields, tires, wheels, tool and wheel cap are not covered under the insurance. Almost all the other parts of the car are covered. If the parts damaged is not covered, then the customer might have to pay the price of repair.

Other Important Things to Know

Can I Take the Car Outside of the UAE?

You are not allowed to take any car rented through Drivus outside of the borders of UAE. You are liable to be charged and also be persecuted by the authorities.

What are the Conditions of Servicing?

Any charges for periodic servicing are included in the rental fees. In case of a vehicle breakdown, we will provide you with a replacement vehicle as soon as possible.

Can I Get an Additional Driver?

You can get an additional driver when you rent a car through Drivus. Any such additional driver would be charged at AED 100 per driver
