Rally Sprint Race
An average attempt at the Suvi-Sprint.
Peräjärven Suvi-Sprint, often simply known as the rally (Peräjärvi Summer-Sprint) is the Rally Sprint race that the Player can join every Saturday between 10:00 and 18:00. The Saturday portion is the first stage of the rally, which takes the player
9.2 kilometres from the end of Peräjärventie near the school in Peräjärvi, all the way to the end of Loppentie near the strawberry field in Rykipohja. The second stage is the same route but in reverse, starting in Rykipohja and ending in Peräjärvi.
After signing the registration form in front of Fleetari at the organiser tent in Peräjärvi and paying the initial 500 mk fee for Junior Cup, the player will need to get in their car and drive it to the starting spot. A unique numbered sticker will appear temporarily on the car doors which is your number for the race.
The player can advance to the Amateur Cup after racing in the Junior Cup a few times, two 1st place podiums will advance the player to Amateur Cup quickly, but other podium places will eventually earn a spot in the higher ranked race. The prize pool is different for the Junior and Amateur Cup, as well as the entry fee.
Cup | Entry fee | Prize pool | 1st place prize | Requirements |
---|---|---|---|---|
Junior | 500 mk | 5,250 mk | 2,500 mk | None |
Amateur | 1,000 mk | 16,000 mk | 8,000 mk | Two 1st place podiums in Junior cup, or equivalent points |

Satsuma requirements [ ]
To be able to take part, the Satsuma must have the following modifications to be rally legal:
The player must be wearing the helmet when signing up, though after the rally starts this may be removed for better visibility and better chance of dying instantly. Additionally, the player must also not be drunk whilst signing up.
Rally basics [ ]
The first stage starting area in Peräjärvi.
After paying the entry fee and driving to the starting point, wait for the «Get ready. » text to turn into a countdown and start rolling forward just before it hits 0; this is done to prevent wheelspin from a standing start. Driving past the two red signs before the countdown finishes will add a two minute penalty to the player’s time.
The course takes the player from Peräjärvi all the way to the strawberry field in Rykipohja via the local dirt roads. The route must be followed to receive the result at the end. Using the railroad tracks as a shortcut will cause the player to not be able to finish at the end. The race ends once the red signs have been passed and a text appears at the top of the screen saying «Finish!». The first stage result form can be found in the tent just past the finish line, before the turn to the asphalt road. It lists the top 19 times for the first stage.
After the first stage has been finished, drive back to Peräjärvi using the highway by turning right at the end of Rykipohjantie, and drive to the parc fermé area (the schoolyard). Park the car and leave it in the yard overnight, and come back on Sunday between 10:00 and 18:00. Start the car and drive it all the way back to Rykipohja, this is the starting point for the second stage.
Fleetari should be sitting in the rally result tent; use the registration form to sign up for the second stage. The second stage is the same route as the first stage, but in reverse. Drive to the starting point once again, do another rolling start, and race the car back to Peräjärvi.
The rally supervisor’s tent, featuring rally supervisor
The rally results form can now be found in a tent inside the parc fermé area, it will list the total time of both stages for the top 19 drivers. The weekly sprint races are now over, and the player must wait another week before participating again.
Prizes [ ]
The three amateur trophies and their differing sizes.
The three junior trophies and their differing sizes.
The player will be awarded with a trophy if they finished in first, second, or third place, as well as some prize money. The Junior and Amateur Cups have different prize pools.
Penalties [ ]
Certain actions will result in getting time penalties added to the player’s total rally time for SS1 and SS2.
Penalty | Cost | Description |
---|---|---|
Late to parc fermé | 60s | Arrive late to the parc fermé between SS1 and SS2 of the rally. |
Late to start of second stage | 60s | Arrive late to the start of second stage after leaving parc fermé. |
Jump start | 120s | Cross the starting line before the countdown. |
Opponents [ ]
Your racing opponents are never shown in the game (the Rally cars driving on the track are professional drivers, competing in an entirely different league to you). Each opponent’s racing time will be randomly generated according to the following table:
Parts dealer [ ]
Used parts salesman
The Used car parts dealer will appear at the Parc fermé next to the school. Similar to Leif at his repair shop, the dealer will provide car parts to replace some heavily worn or broken parts for the Satsuma. However, the parts he provides are generally already worn between 50% to 10% of their life (lower being worse). Use this as a last resort to get parts for your engine.
Like Leif, the parts needing replacement must first be removed from the Satsuma, then the replacement part will appear on the tarpaulin to be bought, next to the hooded trailer.
Achievements [ ]
There are six Steam achievements that can be obtained by finishing the rally in different ways.
Achievement | Requirement |
---|---|
Kiddy Champ | Finish the Junior Cup in first place. |
Flying Finn | Finish the Amateur Cup in first place. |
First loser | Finish the Amateur Cup in second place. |
Sliding Swede | Finish the Amateur Cup in third place. |
Finnish sisu! | Finish the rally with at least one missing wheel and its suspension. |
Hannes Kolehmainen | Finish the rally on foot. |
Note: Only the «Finnish sisu!» achievement can be obtained in non-permadeath mode.

Description:
This adds bright wide-beam spotlights as a part for the Satsuma. You can look for them around the vehicle inspection building in Peräjärvi. They work as a normal part, you can attach, detach and even break them off in a crash. You also need to screw in the bolts to prevent the spotlights from breaking off. They are fitted on the front of the car. You can also paint them, both with spray cans and at Fleetari’s Repair Shop. There’s a switch just above the rear view mirror that turns them on, note that turning them on drains the battery. They also have customizable covers you can put on and remove, you can buy them at Fleetari’s.
You can also edit the texture in the images folder, use any of the templates provided there and rename them to «Covers.png», then press F5 or go into the mod settings to refresh the texture, to get your own texture to show up in game.
Attachable with bolts.
Paintable with spray cans and at Fleetari’s repair shop.
Covers to put on, buyable at Fleetari’s repair shop.
Battery powered, so ignition on!

My summer car ралли
Yesterday I won the rally event in the game after a long and tedious series of trying and re-trying. Clocked 200 hours into this game by now. xD I decided to make this thread to help anyone else struggling with getting the first place. It is doable with keyboard, that’s how I did it as well.
Preferrably buy and install every performance part there is. The aftermarket radiator is mandatory, the stock one WILL overcook before even half of the race is done. Of course you will need the roll cage, race seat, seatbelt and rally wheels as well. I’ve heard of people being able to win this with completely stock car, but last I heard it was in earlier patches.
I have no idea if the car body modifying parts affect aerodynamics (the affect weight at lest, but marginally), but I managed to do it without them. Previously I tried to do it by stripping all the unnecessary parts off, from doors to dashboard to make the car lighter, but it only made it harder to control.
I had to tune my carb to make it easier to play on keyboard. Optimally, you want it to be set to give you more power at higher revs, as that’s where you are going to keep your RPMs at all times (5000+) in a perfect world. Meaning, you might want bit over the optimal amount of air in the mixture. This however causes overheating, and my radiator was spitting water out roughly from half-way the race. The aftermarket radiator held however, and despite being hot, the engine was still functional in the finish line.
I had the carb tuned in a way that once you put gear 1 in place and press W to accelerate, the car does the almost-stalls-but-then-keeps-going start. Sorry I can’t provide accurate air/fuel ratio, I don’t have the gauge installed.
Side note: I had valves adjusted to whatever it is Fleetari adjusts them to.
More important than anything, stay on the road, learn where the bad bumps are. Way too many times I went off the road when I tried to squeeze in few more meters with 120km/h speed instead of slowing down to 100km/h just for a few seconds to make the turn or avoid flying too high in the air.
Each week the rally event is held, the time required for winning seems to vary by small degree. I never noticed does it change every time you load, or is it always a set time for the week.
Closest place to save and continue from for the rally is at the landfill. However when I tried this and went to the rally event from there, it didn’t spawn for some reason.
Game decides to go arse on you and throws you into a double-spiral through the air to your death against a tree because you hit a pebble? Alt + F4 is your non-judging friend.
The Green Car does not drive around during the rally, but the train does.
I put my gear ratio to 4.-something, but it doesn’t seem to make big of a difference. You can drive at a bit higher speed on 3rd gear, which is nice.
When steering with keyboard at high speed, don’t let the wheel do more than a quarter turn, then just tap it to keep it at the quarter turn. Reason is if you keep turning it, it will take longer to return back to neutral position when you would really need it to be there.
One trick for keyboard players would also be to drain your brake cylinders a bit, to make your brake force less of a binary imput (no brakes of full lock brakes when S is pressed), so you would maintain more control even when braking.
Again: For better results, priorize staying on the road over the speed. Get to know where bumps of fail are and slow down for them or avoid them.
