“Electric” and “hypercar” aren’t usually words heard in the same sentence, except in the form of Rimac Nevera C Two. Powered by a 120kWh battery pack, the Nevera uses four electric motors in a way never seen before to reach top speeds other electric cars could only dream of.

But that shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, as everything about the Nevera was designed to push boundaries. “A Nevera is extremely powerful and charged by lightning,” says the company, which seems fitting with its 0-62 mph speed of 1.85 seconds.

And, to ensure you can safely hit those ridiculous speeds, the car comes with 13 cameras to help optimize and enhance each driver’s on-track performance in real-time.

10. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is one of the oldest supercars around, but it’s still one more than worthy of those record-breaking top speeds. A car that set the benchmark even higher both for Bugatti as well as other contenders in the hypercar world, the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport was one of the greatest technological challenges ever known in the automotive industry.

The 16.4 Super Sport was the final design from the Veyron batch, a car that excelled itself in every way, shape, and form possible, before finally putting the Veyron name to bed. Elegant, stylish and truly one of a kind: the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport promises to retain its name in history for the foreseeable future.

9. Hennessey Venom GT

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

On Valentine’s Day in 2014, John Hennessey of Hennessey Performance declared an end (for a time, anyway) to his feud with Bugatti. After years of sparring, the American car manufacturer saw his Venom GT seize the World Record for Fastest Car on NASA’s Kennedy Space Center’s runway.

The car took two full years to engineer and develop. 29 were made; the manufacturer has only let them go for approximately 1.2 million apiece.

The supercar itself is gorgeous, with sinuous curves and a sleek body. Featuring an ultra-light carbon-fibre chassis, the Venom GT almost reads feline, as if it’s a black panther poised to leap forward at any second.

And leap, it does: The Venom GT reached a top speed of a then-unprecedented 270mph or 434 kph. While performing its World Record tests, it achieved an acceleration of 0-100kph or 0-60 mph in 3.05 seconds.

8. Koenigsegg Agera RS

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

The Koenigsegg Agera RS was designed to be seen and to be heard, a supercar that took the challenge of beating world records into its hands with a sleek design to match. A boundary-pushing beast of a vehicle that manages to successfully tick all the boxes, it’s a strong contender for one of the world’s most impressive cars.

The Agera RS was handcrafted only 25 times,10 of which were pre-sold before the first showing. The company reported that this was its fastest-selling model and it remains one of the rarest out there.

Its most alluring feature? The 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which generates 1176 horsepower and 940 lb-ft of torque in standard form. And it’s made almost entirely in-house, something relatively unheard of in the industry.

7. C zinger 21c

Unlike some supercars which stick to traditional methods and designs, the C zinger 21c was built for the 21st century. A car propelling itself far into the future in every way possible, its lap-record-shattering performance is just one of the many things it boasts of.

Carbon fiber construction, a bespoke hybrid powertrain, extreme downforce and more ensure this car knows its stuff both inside and out. This is a car powered on both electricity and gas, supplementing its forces with an 800-volt electrical system, similar to those spotted on recent Formula 1 cars.

Sure, it won’t quite hit those maximum speeds on electricity alone, but it’s powerful enough to travel a moderate distance without using gas.

6. Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

Bugatti has been a storied name in luxury hypercars for years, naturally. The intensely upgraded quad-turbocharged W16 that powers the Chiron upgraded the speed of this iconic speed added some brawn to the beauty – with the result that, now, Bugatti has not one, not two, but three places in our ranking of the fastest cars of 2022.

While it may no longer be the absolute fastest car out there (we’ll get to that envied title in a minute), Bugatti’s Chiron Super Sport 300+ has a claim to fame that will be chronicled in history books and awed conversations for years to come: It was the very first car to cross the then-unheard-of barrier of 300 mph (or 483 kph).

It still represents a flawless balance between form and function, aerodynamics, and aesthetics. With an acceleration from 0-100 kilometers per hour (0-60 mph) in 2.4 seconds, this Bugatti certainly has speed and style, all at the same time.

5. Bugatti Bolide

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

After the success of the Chiron Super Sport, Bugatti went back to the drawing board. The innovative, historic auto house needed to one-up itself; but how can one do that when the Super Sport 300+ was already, seemingly, perfection on wheels?

Enter: an 8.0L W-16 motor. 1825 horsepower. A stunning 1364 lb-ft of torque.

Clearly, this car is going places.

Bugatti’s Bolide is a lightweight hypercar that showcases the true extent of Bugatti’s range in terms of beauty, power, and innovation. Using the same bespoke engine from the storied Chiron line, but with more turbos to amplify the effect, the Bolide will truly show the world what the W-16 motor is capable of.

It’s also light, futuristic (powder blue paint sits sparingly on its exposed carbon-fiber frame), and tiny: The Bolide only stands 39.2 inches off the ground. Its claimed top speed is 310mph or 498 kph; it can do 0-60mph (0-100kph) in 2.17 seconds.

4. Hennessey Venom F5

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

Next in the lineup of Hennessey’s record-breaking vehicles is another in John Hennessey’s Venom line: the F5. The name is a reference to the very fastest type of tornado – a natural force that the Hennessey emulates with its immense power and incredible speeds.

Under the hood of the Venom F5 is an American-made twin-turbocharged engine; the result? Nearly 2,000 horsepower. This gives the Venom F5 precisely what it needs to reach a top speed of 484 kilometers per hour (301 mph). Its acceleration is equally impressive, as it can accelerate from 0-100kph or 0-60mph in less than two seconds.

Built to help Hennessey smash a world record it had previously broken with the GT, the F5 was amped up in style, exclusivity, price, and speed. Only 24 were made. The sticker price was 1.6 million dollars. The bright yellow carbon-fiber shell? Instantly iconic.

3. Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut

Thus far, it may seem that the race to determine the fastest car of 2022 has been mostly between two auto manufacturers: Bugatti and Hennessey. That makes sense. They’re both impeccably pedigreed houses, producing incredible cars just packed with raw power.

But! That doesn’t mean they’ve got this race.

Introducing: the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut – a hypercar that ups the ante by an astonishing almost thirty miles per hour. For a long time, if anyone wondered what the fastest car in the world was – it was definitely this car.

Swedish auto manufacturer Koenigsegg introduced this vehicle to set a new world record. As such, they updated the engine from their other popular supercar, the Agera RS; they invested in more precise handling, and they made this car lighter and more aerodynamic for optimal performance.

The Jesko Absolut reaches a top speed of 330mph (or 531kph); the manufacturer has not released acceleration information – but with that type of top speed, it’s sure to be impressive.

2. SSC Tuatara

What’s faster than 330mph, you might wonder?

Simple answer. 331mph.

North America-based SSC has built a beautiful supercar that’s simply packed with the latest and greatest in automotive innovations. In October 2020, in Nevada, on a seven-mile stretch of road, Shelby SuperCars confirmed that their fastest supercar had reached an eye-watering speed of 331mph – or over 530kph.

Unfortunately for those who see themselves zipping around their favorite cities at this breakneck pace, this car isn’t quite road-legal: It uses a camera system, instead of mirrors, to help with steering.

The SSC Tuatara boasts an acceleration of 0-100 kilometers per hour (0-60mph) in 2.5 seconds.

Honourable mentions: The cars that just didn’t make the cut

300mph is a very, very difficult milestone to hit. While the seven cars we’ve profiled here managed to come close or supersede that target, that doesn’t mean that cars with slightly slower speeds aren’t performing phenomenally.

These eight speedy supercars certainly merit honorable mention…and we wouldn’t be surprised if these manufacturers rise to the top for a dramatic upset in our future car rankings:

A vehicle’s speed can be determined in a number of ways. Because we can drive at 60 miles per hour on most highways, being able to accelerate swiftly from 0 to 60 miles per hour is arguably the most realistic performance criterion.

The top speed statistic, which is the most extreme, no holds barred, balls-to-the-wall figure a supercar can have, is the final rating component. Top speed is the one that gets the most attention, despite the fact that we’ll probably never be able to accomplish it. Creating hunks of metal that can safely drive themselves down a strip of pavement without breaking apart necessitates a great deal of engineering expertise. The Fastest Car In The World 2022 is shown below.

It took over a year, but Bugatti’s 304-mph record has finally lost its number one spot. There’s a new top-speed champion as of October 19, 2020, and a company few people have heard about has made it. The names SSC and Tuatara may not sound familiar to you now, but that won’t last long. Now that it snagged the speed crown from Bugatti, odds are you’ll hear a lot more about this Washington-based firm and the record-breaking machines it designs and builds.

Until then, these are the fastest production cars in the world. The emphasis here is on the word “production” — dragsters, rally cars, and one-off custom jobs need not apply. We’ve also tried to limit our selection to those with claimed top speeds recognized as legitimate by automotive media and sanctioning groups.

1. SSC Tuatara (316mph)

Founded in 1998, Washington-based SSC is the current top-speed record holder. Test driver Oliver Webb averaged a Guinness-certified 316.11 mph on a closed stretch of State Route 160 in rural Nevada. He reached 301.07 mph during his first run, and he maxed out at 331.15 mph on the way back; his record was obtained by averaging the two. What’s even more impressive is that the Tuatara was fitted with street tires, and it wasn’t burning race fuel.

Power for the world’s fastest car comes from a twin-turbocharged, 5.9-liter V8 that develops 1,750 horsepower when it’s burning E85, or 1,350 horsepower when it slurps 91-octane fuel. It tips the scale at approximately 2,750 pounds.

2. Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ (304mph)

The second-fastest car in the world is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+. Intrepid British driver Andy Wallace famously reached 304mph behind the wheel of this limited-edition model in August 2019, becoming the first person to cross the 300mph threshold in a production car. Many of Bugatti’s rivals talk about doing 300-plus; Instead of talking, the French carmaker went to the Ehra-Lessien test track in Germany, did it, and made it look easy.

“It’s pretty cool,” Wallace replied with a smile when Digital Trends asked him what 304mph feels like. The record-breaking car is a 1,600-horsepower, longtail evolution of the regular Chiron that will be built in limited numbers.

3. Hennessey Venom F5 (301mph, claimed)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

Hennessey made a name for itself when its Venom GT recorded a monumental but unofficial 270mph run in 2014. Boasting a claimed top speed of 301mph, the Venom F5 smashed the previous top speed figure by more than a school zone speed limit. To do so, Hennessey started with an all-new, 2,950-pound carbon fiber chassis (the Venom GT is based on the Lotus Exige), and bolted a 1,600hp, 7,4-liter, twin-turbo V8 to it. The results are absolutely astonishing, and the car can reportedly go from zero to 249 to zero mph in less than 30 seconds. Hennessey has yet to confirm its top speed with the Guinness Book of World Records, however, so the Chiron remains on top for the time being.

4. Koenigsegg Agera RS (278mph)

Koenigsegg held the top-speed record until Bugatti snatched the crown in August 2019 with the Chiron. To put the Agera RS to the test, it politely asked the Nevada Department of Transportation to close an 11-mile stretch of Route 160 between Las Vegas and Pahrump. On public roads, the 1,160hp Swedish supercar hit 284.55mph during its first run and 271.19mph during the second, which averages out to 277.9mph. Watch the run here.

5. Hennessey Venom GT (270mph)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

Hennessey recorded a 270.4mph run at the Kennedy Space Center in 2014, but only in one direction. To be considered legitimate, record attempts usually require one run in each direction. An average is then taken to account for wind conditions. And, because of its hand-built nature, there’s also some debate about whether the Venom GT qualifies as a production car. While its top speed is undoubtedly amazing, and it represents a remarkable achievement, the GT wasn’t recognized as the world’s fastest car by the Guinness Book of World Records.

6. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (268mph)

Yet the Veyron was soon dethroned by the SSC Ultimate Aero, so Bugatti came back with the Veyron Super Sport. This Veyron-plus had 1,200hp, and numerous aerodynamic changes meant to help gain a few extra miles per hour.

With a top speed of 268mph recorded at Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessein test track, the Veyron Super Sport was crowned the world’s second-fastest production car by Guinness. The related Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is also the world’s fastest open-topped car, with a top speed of 254mph.

7. Rimac Concept Two (258mph, claimed)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

In 2016, Croatian firm Rimac Automobili got the world’s attention with the Concept One, an electric supercar so potent it nearly killed The Grand Tour’s Richard Hammond. At the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the company unleashed an even faster successor: The Concept Two. An updated version of the car is due out in 2020.

Everything about the Concept Two is absurd. Rimac claims its four electric motors produce a combined 1,914hp and 1,696 lb.-ft. of torque, and that the Concept Two will do zero to 60mph in 1.85 seconds. That would make it the quickest-accelerating production car in the world — electric or otherwise. Top speed is a claimed 258mph, and Rimac claims the 120-kilowatt-hour battery pack will provide 404 miles of range on the European testing cycle.

8. SSC Ultimate Aero (256mph)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

Briefly, the might of Sweden-based Koenigsegg and the prestige of Bugatti were beaten by a company no one had ever heard of. For a moment, the SSC Ultimate Aero was the fastest production car in the world. It hit 256mph in 2007, beating the non-Super Sport version of the Veyron.

Helping it achieve that velocity is a 6.3-liter V8 twin-turbocharged to 1,287hp. There are no electronic driver aids to help control that power either, which creates a purer driving experience for those with talent, and a scenario for certain death for those without it.

9. Aston Martin Valkyrie (250mph, claimed)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

Aston Martin teamed up with Red Bull Racing to develop the Valkyrie, a supercar that benefits from technology fine-tuned in the Formula 1 paddock. Though the final version hasn’t been released yet, we know it will use a mid-mounted, 6.5-liter V12 engine tuned to make 900hp. That’s an impressive stat on its own, but the 12-cylinder is part of a hybrid powertrain in this application. Aston predicts the Valkyrie’s total output will lie in the vicinity of 1,130hp, enough for a 250hp top speed. Check back to see if the production figure lives up to those predictions.

10. McLaren Speedtail (250mph, claimed)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

The limited-edition McLaren Speedtail is called BP23 internally, a name which stands for “bespoke project 2,” and also refers to the three-abreast seating arrangement. Like the sold-out P1, the Speedtail is powered by a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain built around a V8 engine, although McLaren isn’t divulging additional technical details at this time. We know the system generates 1,035 horsepower, which is enough to send the Speedtail to a top speed of 250mph. That figure makes it the fastest McLaren road car ever. It’s capable of accelerating from zero to 186mph in 12.8 seconds.

11. Tesla Roadster (250mph, claimed)

The original Tesla Roadster was a sports car based on the Lotus Elise, and although its performance was certainly impressive, it’s better known for establishing Tesla as a legitimate player in the automotive world. The new Roadster, with its bona fide supercar levels of performance, is another thing altogether.

Revealed as a surprise at the end of the Tesla Semi unveiling, the second-generation Roadster features the most impressive spec sheet of any EV before it: zero to 60mph in 1.9 seconds, zero to 100mph in 4.2 seconds, and a claimed top speed of 250mph. While these numbers remain unconfirmed at this time, the Roadster’s 200kWh battery pack is absolutely massive and will undoubtedly push performance EVs to an entirely new level. The biggest battery you can get in a Model S or Model X is half that size, by the way.

In addition to the ridiculous acceleration and speed, Tesla founder Elon Musk claimed the Roadster will boast a range of 620 miles. Using computer simulations to obtain theoretical numbers is easy, however; we’ll see if Tesla can walk the walk when it starts production of the Roadster. It already delayed the model once.

12. Milan Red (249mph, claimed)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

Named after the Red Kite, a large bird of prey, the Milan Red is powered by a 6.2-liter quad-turbocharged V8, which produces a claimed 1,307hp and 1,303 lb.-ft. of torque. Milan Automotive claims its creation will do zero to 62mph in 2.47 seconds, and reach a top speed of 249mph.

Currently, CEO Markus Fux runs the company, which is appropriate given the former driver raced in the International GT Open and ADAC GT Masters series. He won’t have to oversee a long production run, though, as Milan plans to make just 99 copies of the Red.

13. Saleen S7 Twin Turbo (248mph)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

Among performance addicts, the Saleen S7 is a legend. There are several reasons for this — the exotic styling, insane performance, and incredible tuning potential, to name a few — but much of the vehicle’s appeal is actually historical. Produced from 2000 to 2009, the S7 was America’s first mid-engined supercar.

It wasn’t just the first in the U.S., though; it’s one of the best supercars ever made. Built on a lightweight chassis crafted from aluminum and steel, the vehicle featured a hulking 7.0-liter V8 that produced 550hp, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 60 in 3.3 seconds. About halfway through its life cycle, Saleen debuted the S7 Twin Turbo, which brought the car’s performance to near comical levels.

With 750hp on tap, the S7 could hit 60mph in just 2.8 seconds before smashing through the quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds. However, its most stunning statistic is its top speed of 248mph, making it one of the fastest cars ever put to pavement.

14. Koenigsegg CCR (242mph)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

Swedish supercar builder Koenigsegg briefly held the “world’s fastest” title before being bested by the original Bugatti Veyron. Its CCR reached 242mph at Italy’s Nardo Ring in 2005.

The CCR was powered by a 4.7-liter V8 of the company’s own design, it used a carbon-fiber body, and it didn’t offer much in the way of electronic aids. But, despite its impressive statistics, the CCR’s moment in the spotlight was as brief as its claim on the world record. It was soon beat by Koenigsegg’s own CCX, and then by the current Agera.

15. McLaren F1 (241mph)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

The F1 is more than just a former world’s fastest car. With its carbon-fiber body, gold-lined engine bay, 6.1-liter BMW M V12, and center driver’s seat, it’s one of the coolest — and most expensive — cars ever made.

Years before it attempted to take on Ferrari and Porsche with the MP4-12C, McLaren was known only as a successful race team in Formula 1 and the defunct Can-Am series. Yet its first road car wasn’t exactly an amateur effort. It intended to make the F1 the ultimate road-going supercar. The company’s racing experience shaped the design with excellent results. The F1 even went on to a moderately successful racing career in its own right.

16. Pagani Huayra BC (238mph)

Although it has taken over a year, Bugatti’s 304-mph record has finally lost its top spot on the speed charts. A new top-speed king was crowned on October 19, 2020, and an unknown company has taken the lead. You may not have heard the names SSC and Tuatara, but we promise that you’ll start hearing them soon. Since its recent victory, chances are, you’ll be introduced to this Washington-based firm and record-breaking machines in the coming months.

Until testing, these models remain the fastest production vehicles in the world. The emphasis here is on the word “production” — dragsters, rally cars, and one-off custom jobs do not apply. Keep in mind that we try to limit our picks to legitimate top speed models accepted by automotive media and sanctioning groups.

Speed has fascinated mankind for millennia. Foot races in ancient Greece and chariot races in Rome gave rise to competitive speed, and man has never looked back. But it wasn’t until the first cars emerged from garages across Europe that man’s quest for speed took off. Today, almost every car can hit 100 mph and most family sedans will breeze past 120. Performance cars routinely play around 140 to 170. But our need for speed looks beyond that.

What was once a quest for 200 mph in a production car now sits at 300, as automakers strive to add more power, smarter aerodynamics, and begin to implement electric motors, all in the name of going faster. Here’s a complete ranking of the fastest cars in the world according to top speed. But for some additional context – and because it’s more achievable in the real world – we’ve also included how long each takes to hit 60 mph.

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut

Koenigsegg knows a thing or six about building mental hypercars and the Jesko Absolut is the latest example. But while most other cars on this list have reached their top speeds, the 330-mile-per-hour V-max here is only theoretical. Yes, it’s based on math, but no Jesko Absolut has cracked 330 yet.

Bugatti is the Dodge of hypercars, continuously finding ways to squeeze ever more performance from one particular engine. Its quadruple-turbocharged, 8.0-liter W16 engine shocked us in the Veyron and Veyron Super Sport – two cars that, were they still in production, would handily make this list – but this monstrous engine is on an entirely different level in the newer Chiron Super Sport 300+. With 1,600 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque (600 hp and 193 lb-ft more than the original Veyron), the range-topping Chiron hits 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and, as the name suggests, can crest 300 mph. In official testing, Bugatti recorded 304 mph.

If there was ever a question as to whether electrification is the future of performance, Rimac (now teamed with Bugatti) is on a mission to answer “YES” with cars like the Nevera. The sleek Croatian hypercar packs four electric motors with a total output of 1,914 horsepower and 1,740 pound-feet of torque. But while the 258-mph top speed is deeply impressive, we’re more bewildered by the 1.97-second to 62 mph and the world-beating quarter-mile time, where it took just 8.74 seconds all while on cold tires. On properly warmed rubber, that time fell to just 8.58 seconds. Wild.

Aston Martin Valkyrie

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

Aston Martin has never really played in the hypercar space, instead contenting itself to build excellent and beautiful grand tourers. The Valkyrie is a change of tact, the result of a partnership between Aston and its Formula One partner, Red Bull Racing, to build a world-beating hypercar.

The Valkyrie features a naturally aspirated, Cosworth-sourced V12 and hybrid system to produce 1,160 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, but it’s how that power arrives. It comes at very high engine speeds, with the V12 packing an 11,000-rpm redline. Unleashed on the right road, this mid-engine Aston will hit 60 in 2.5 seconds and carry on to a top speed of over 250 mph.

With seating for four and a three-cylinder engine, the Koenigsegg Gemera doesn’t sound like the kind of vehicle that’d make a list for fastest cars in the world. That is, until you realize it’s from Koenigsegg, and things like seats and cylinder counts tell little of the story. The roomy Gemera packs 1,700 hp and 2,581 lb-ft of torque.

A new Pacchetto Tempesta package was introduced in 2021 that added 25 hp and 36 lb-ft of torque, but Pagani hasn’t indicated how that improves the zero-to-60 time or top speed.

Lambo Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae Coupe

Lamborghini is synonymous with V12 engines, but that won’t be the case for much longer. The new Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae represents the last nail in the coffin for gas-only V12 performance at the Italian automaker ahead of an electrified future. And what a nail it is. Power comes in at 769, while there’s 531 pound-feet of torque. Those are modest figures relative to some of the vehicles on this list, but with a 2.8-second sprint to 60 and a 220-mph top speed, the celebration of the Aventador line and the gas-powered V12 in particular is a worthy sendoff.

Pininfarina Battista

If you’re naming a car after your company’s founder, it better be a pretty epic effort. Fortunately for Automobili Pininfarina, the Battista certainly qualifies. Named after Battista Pininfarina, the founder of the eponymous Italian design house with links to the automaker, this all-electric monster packs 1,900 horsepower and 1,741 pound-feet of torque via a four-motor setup similar to the Rimac Nevera (the two cars share a platform and are built in the same Croatian facility).

Mercedes-AMG One

Details remain scarce on the Mercedes-AMG One, aside from the fact that the German automaker is taking knowledge straight from its championship-winning Formula 1 team and applying it to a road car. There’s a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder, three electric motors, and over 1,000 hp on offer (or more) – Mercedes hasn’t said how much torque the One produces, but the answer probably qualifies as “a lot.”

World’s Fastest Cars

World’s Quickest Cars 0-60

What is the fastest car in the world?

The fastest car in the world is the jet-powered ThrustSSC, which has held the land-speed record since October 1997.

How fast is the fastest car in the world (MPH)?

The ThrustSSC was clocked in 1997 at a maximum speed of 760 mph over a flying kilometer and 763 over a flying mile. It was the first car to break the speed of sound.

What is the fastest commercially produced car in the world?

The fastest production car in the world could be the 330-mph Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, but we may never know. Math supports it, but there are few places that could allow the Swedish supercar to reach its max, so there hasn’t been an attempt. The SSC Tuatara is technically the leader, with a 316-mph average over two runs, but controversy surrounds that attempt. The one vehicle we know for certain has cracked 300 mph and is unquestionably the reigning fastest car in the world is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which hit 304 mph.

What is the quickest car in the world?

Among vehicles in customer hands, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is quickest, with a manufacturer-estimated 2.3-second sprint to 60. The all-electric Pininfarina Battista could be the future champmion, though, with a claimed run from zero to 62 mph of 1.8 seconds.

These are the fastest production cars of every decade

Here’s a list of the fastest cars, decade by decade.

Cars have revolutionized the world we live in, and fast cars have fascinated people since the very beginning — often times for no real reason other than fame and glory. Let’s be honest — how often will you get to drive your car at 300 km/h, even if it’s able to go that fast? No matter the reason, we like fast cars, so let’s learn a bit more about them. Here’s a list of the fastest cars, decade by decade.

1880-1889 | Horse carriage | 10-30 mph (16-48 km/h)

I know, I know, this is not a car, it’s a horse-drawn carriage — but we needed a reference point. This is the Benz Motorwagen, one of the sleekest carriages ever made. There’s no definite maximum speed for carriages, but since specially-bred horses can reach some 40 mph free, it seems safe to say that 30 mph should be the top speed with the weight of the carriage and the passengers. It’s a real piece of art and history, but let’s move on to some real cars!

1890-1899 | Stanley Runabout | 35 mph (56 km/h)

Oh yeah, now we’re talking! F.E. and F.O. Stanley were twins born in Kingsland, Maine, on June 1, 1849. They operated a dry-plate photographic business in Massachusetts until they entered the car industry in 1896 with a splash. They developed this magnificent car with a steam engine, the best option considering the available technology at the time. Steam engines often have fewer than 25 moving parts, so this powerful engine for its time was quite simple in essence, though its complexity was impressive.

In 1897 the duo began producing automobiles in Massachusetts, selling over 200 by the fall of 1897.

1900-1909 | Mercedes-Simplex 60HP | 73 mph (117 km/h)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

The Mercedes Simplex was an automobile produced from 1902 to 1909 by the Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft (DMG, Daimler Motor Society, a predecessor of Daimler-Benz and Daimler-Chrysler). It continued the use of the Mercedes name as the brand of DMG, rather than Daimler.

This car featured powerful engines, with power ranging from 40 (at 1300 rpm) to 60 horsepower. It used a magneto-electric spark ignition system, with a single spray-nozzle carburetor. It represented quite a step forward at the time, being quite unlike any other vehicle in its day. Because of this, the Simplex quickly became popular with royalty, nobility, and the other creme de la creme of the day. Needless to say, this car cemented the dominance of Mercedes in the field of automobiles, a legacy the company carries to this day.

1910-1919 | Austro-Daimler Prince Henry | 85 mph (136 km/h)

In 1911 Austro-Daimler began producing the Prinz Heinrich (in English: Prince Henry) model; this car featured an overhead cam 5,714-cc four-cylinder engine. The car’s production figures suffered during the First World War as the 4,500 workers of Austro-Daimler contributed in large numbers to wartime production. Unfortunately, soon after that, the company began collapsing. Still, this car remains an epitome of the luxury and technological prowess of its time.

1920-1929 | Duesenberg Model J | 119 mph (191 km/h)

The Duesenberg Model J is a luxury automobile made by Duesenberg. Created in 1928, the car was meant to compete with the most powerful and elegant cars of the time, and it did an amazing job at that. Unfortunately for the company, the car was introduced just a few years before the stock market crash that led to the Great Depression and was sold only until 1937. Although smaller than other engines of the time, it generated 265 hp. This made the car amazingly fast for its time. It was dominant and had all you could want in a high-end car. It could have become a staple, cherished to this day, if not for the circumstances of the time.

1930-1939 | Duesenberg Model SJ | 140 mph (225 km/h)

You’re probably starting to notice a trend for these last few cars. The Duesenberg J was so dominant at its time that the company did what every respectable car company would do — they pimped it out. The SJ had a 320 hp, inline, eight-cylinder engine with a centrifugal supercharger, a three-speed manual transmission, beam-type front, live rear axles with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel vacuum-assisted hydraulic drum brakes. Interestingly enough, the car was initially designed for Mae West, who ultimately declined the design. Joke’s on her, right?

1940-1949 | Jaguar XK 120 | 132 mph (214 km/h)

Perhaps the best testament to how dominant the Duesenberg was at its time is that for the next decade, no one could create a faster car — although, in all fairness, no one really cared about that during WWII. After the war, it was time for the Jaguar to rise to prominence. The XK was sold between 1948 and 1954. It was Jaguar’s first sports car since the SS 100, which ceased production in 1940. For high speeds, the windshield had to be folded down, which must have given riders quite a thrill.

1950-1959 | Aston Martin DB4 GT | 153 mph (246 km/h)

The fastest car in the world. Смотреть фото The fastest car in the world. Смотреть картинку The fastest car in the world. Картинка про The fastest car in the world. Фото The fastest car in the world

High speed and high class seem to go hand in hand, and the Aston Martin DB4 GT was the epitome of both. With supreme class and luxury, it was the undisputed ruler of the highways, and even today, they are sold at lavish auctions for dazzling prices. Due to the huge popularity, huge price tag, great look, and rarity of the DB4 GT, many replica cars have been constructed, and even those replicas sell extremely well.

1960-1969 | Ferrari 365 GTB/4 “Daytona” | 174 mph (280 km/h)

Of course, no “Fastest” list would be complete without at least one Ferrari.

Better known as the Ferrari Daytona, The Ferrari 365 GTB/4 was a traditional front-engined, rear drive car. The car achieved fame not only for being the fastest of its decade but also for being driven by Dan Gurney and Brock Yates in the inaugural Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash. The event showcased not only the car’s maximum speed but also its capacity to maintain high speeds over long periods of time. The duo won with an average speed of 80.1 miles per hour (129 km/h), completing the distance from New York to L.A. in 35 hours 54 minutes (2,876 miles (4,628 km)).

1970-1979 | Ferrari GT4 Berlinetta Boxer | 175 mph (281 km/h)

Ferrari continued to assert its dominance over the next decade as well. Amidst hotter and hotter competition, in which Lamborghini said its Countach could do 200 mph (and it couldn’t), it was again Ferrari who took the crown. It’s worth noting that no BB was ever originally sold in North America, as Enzo did not believe it to be worth the cost of complying with the extra environmental and safety regulations. Today, he’d probably sell it only in the US.

1980-1989 | Ferrari F40 | 202 mph (325 km/h)

Its direct competitor, the Porsche 959, was almost just as fast at 200 mph, but Ferrari again took the crown. An endless debate emerged between which one was better, and that debate still hasn’t been answered today; but in terms of speed, the Ferrari F40 takes the crown.

1990-1999 | McLaren F1 | 240 mph (386 km/h)

An emblematic car, the McLaren F1’s speed was only limited by its engine rpm — it was so aerodynamic that wind resistance was almost negligible. It was so amazingly fast th at it won the LeMans not only in its class but also in the prototype class, something which was unheard of for a streetcar — to this date, this is considered one of the most incredible feats in motorsports. In 1994, the British car magazine Autocar stated in a road test regarding the F1, that “the McLaren F1 is the finest driving machine yet built for the public road” and that it “will be remembered as one of the great events in the history of the car, and it may possibly be the fastest production road car the world will ever see.”

2000-2009 | Shelby Super Cars (SSC) Aero | 257 mph (414 km/h)

The SSC Aero came with a bang, and to this day, it lost the title of ‘fastest production car’ by just a scratch. The SSC Ultimate Aero held the title of the fastest production car in the world from 2007 until the Bugatti Veyron came out in 2010. Simulation and testing at NASA’s Virginia facility had shown the Ultimate Aero TT theoretically capable of attaining approximately 273 mph (439 km/h), enough to surpass the production car record-holding Bugatti Veyron’s 253.7 mph (408.3 km/h).

2010 – today | Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport | 268 mph (431 km/h)

The original version had a top speed of 407 km/h (253 mph), but the superspeed version went even further. The current Super Sport version of the Veyron is recognized by Guinness World Records as the fastest street-legal production car in the world. The Veyron features an 8.0-liter, quad-turbocharged, W16 cylinder engine, equivalent to two narrow-angle V8 engines bolted together. Each cylinder has four valves (for a total of 64), but the VR8 configuration of each bank allows two overhead camshafts to drive two banks of cylinders so only four camshafts are needed. It’s a monumental car, and a spectacular engineering achievement by all standards.

An honorable mention goes to the Hennessey Venom GT, which recorded a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h) — but only in one direction (runs in both directions need to be achieved to compensate for the wind speed) and only 16 cars have been ever sold — too little to be considered a production car.

As far as the fastest cars in general, not just production ones, we have two modern-day contenders worth taking a look at:

2011 – 2015 | Hennessey Venom GT | 270 mph (434 km/h)

Powered by a 1,200 horsepower, twin-turbocharged V8 engine, the Hennessey Venom GT achieved a top speed of 270.49 mph at the Kennedy Space Center on February 14, 2014. At the time, this made it the fastest car in the world, overtaking the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport by two miles per hour. The car goes from zero to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds.

2015 – today | Koenigsegg Agera RS | 278 mph (447 km/h)

The Agera RS was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, gathering quite a fair share of attention — and for good reason.

This is the fastest car in the world today. The company tweeted back in November 2017 that the model achieved a world record of 277.9 mph, documenting the moment on video. All this performance comes from its twin-turbo V8, 1176 horsepower engine. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, and from 0 to 249 mph in 33.29 seconds.

People have been fascinated with fast cars for as long as there have been fast cars – many would argue it’s an incomparable adrenaline rush. But what cars are the fastest? Below you will find the comprehensive list of the five quickest currently on sale. We’ve also compiled the fastest cars that are available on carwow, too, all of which you can with great offers from trusted dealers.

1.) Bugatti Chiron Supersport 300+

Top speed: 304mph

That old cliche of doing what it says on the tin rears its head here because the Bugatti Chiron Supersport 300+ will do, well, 300mph+. More specifically, it managed 304mph when the French firm decided to unleash it at Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessien test track.

This 1,600hp mega-machine doesn’t officially hold the world record though, as it only did that run in one direction. To break the record you have to do it twice in opposite directions — which for whatever reason, Bugatti decided not to do.

2.) SSC Tuatara

Top speed: 268mph

The American SSC Tuatara (Too-ah-ta-ra in case you’re struggling) comes in second on this list, with a pretty respectable 286mph top speed. That said, it’s not without a little controversy.

You see, SSC claimed the Tuatara actually managed 316mph in October 2020 to make it the world’s fastest car — but later admitted to a GPS error that depicted that speed wrongly. Later tests saw it hit a maximum of 286mph (it averaged 283mph over two runs.) Still not exactly slow, is it?

3.) McLaren Speedtail

Top speed: 250mph

McLaren didn’t design the Speedtail to chase world records, but, with a 250mph top speed, it’s the fastest road car it has ever built.

That’s faster than its last three-seat car — the legendary McLaren F1. Its super-slippery bodywork lacks and drag-inducing wings and means it looks like something ripped straight from a futuristic cyberpunk film. Just think about carrying two of your mates at that speed…

4.) Koenigsegg Regera

Top speed: 250mph

Matching the Speedtail is the Koenigsegg Regera. This Swedish speed machine comes with a twin-turbo V8 engine and an electric motor that produce a total of 1,500hp.

Unlike any other car on this list, the Regera can go from 0-250mph using just ONE gear. Yep, no matter if you’re cruising at 30mph or aiming to hit its 250mph top speed (on a closed course, not the M1) you’ll be in the same gear. Seems a little bonkers.

5.) Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

Top speed: 217mph

The fastest naturally-aspirated production car you can buy at the moment comes from the lunatics at Lamborghini. Not all that surprising, really.

The SVJ is the ultimate version of the Lamborghini Aventador supercar and produces a whopping 770hp from its 6.5-litre V12 engine. Its 217mph top speed is actually the same as the standard Aventador S, but the lighter and gripper SVJ will get there quicker and be faster around corners.

The fastest cars available on carwow

1.) Audi R8 Performance

Top speed: 205mph

It’s been around ages now, but the Audi R8 is still the daddy of Audi’s range — although the new RS e-tron GT could well lay claim to that crown soon. The 620hp R8 Performance is still a properly capable machine though, and its 205mph top speed makes it the fastest car you can get through carwow.

2.) Mercedes-AMG GT R

Top speed: 198mph

Right now, the Mercedes-AMG GT R is the fastest of the GTs that you can buy through carwow thanks to its 198mph top speed. The faster AMG GT Black Series is still on sale, but that £335,000 car is built to order only.

The GT R can monster 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds, thanks to its 577hp twin-turbo V8, and has plenty of aerodynamic and suspension upgrades over the ‘ordinary’ AMG GT S to help it corner more quickly too.

3.) Honda NSX

Top speed: 191mph

The Honda NSX is on eof the few hybrid supercars on sale – its 3.5-litre V6 engine is fitted with an electric motor to help this mid-engined monster return a claimed economy of 28mpg. It’s a quiet cruiser that makes for a proficient day-to-day vehicle. However, behind that practicality is a supercar that’s armed with 581hp and can reach up to 191mph.

4) Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio

Top speed: 191mph

Fancy a ballistic saloon car? Look no further than the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. This twin-turbo V6 saloon delivers a stonking 510hp, all of which is sent to the rear wheels only.

Keep it straight and it’ll manage 191mph with enough space. And, this is in a car that you could quite easily take the kids to school in — and probably embarrass them a bit with the raucous exhaust.

5) BMW M8 Competition

Top speed: 190mph

For something just as capable on a track as it is crossing the continent, the BMW M8 Competition is a seriously impressive GT car. Given enough room, and it’ll top 190mph.

It’s not a stripped-out race car, though. It’s laden with luxury touches, has an impressive infotainment system and it’s genuinely very comfortable. You’ll have no trouble eating up mile after mile of autobahn in an M8.

Top 10 Fastest Cars in The World

“The Fastest production car” means more than maximum speed in my term.
A complete supercar must have a fair combination, but more of these features.
Steering, test track, driving experience, and cornering have a great deal to do with quick.
The measurement of the path must be very definite. It must be the same for all.
A half-mile ride on smooth concrete will generate different outcomes than a half of a mile run on a drag race track.
Top speed at The Autobahn (Germany) is not the same as a top speed run on the Bonneville Salt Flats.
There is also a shift in altitude/slope, and the smallest and maximum positions are not on the same level.
Unlike fast motorcycles, the dynamics of suspension go far beyond just simple G force.
Driver’s skill, vehicle familiarity, and knowledge of the track is a variable to consider.
For ordinary highways, most of them may be too fast or too powerful to handle, so the government made them legal to buy but prohibits to drive on a public street.
There are many top automobile companies to be listed here like Ferrari, Saleen, Devel, Corvette, and Porsche that couldn’t make up to the list.
Tighten up your seat-belt and lighten up wallet here are the top 10 fastest cars in the world 2021:

10. Lamborghini Sián FKP 37

With over 60 years of exceptional sleek design and performance, it’s hard to name a company that consistently introduced some of the coolest and fastest cars ever other than Lamborghini, of course.
The Sián is the brand’s first hybrid production car, which was unveiled online on September 3, 2019.
The Sián FKP 37 is based on the Lamborghini Aventador and shares its engine with the SVJ version, but an electric motor incorporated into the transmission boosts the power output by 25 kW.
Titanium intake valves, a reprogrammed ECU, and a new exhaust system have all been added to the engine, bringing the total power output to 785 PS.
Sián has a total power output of 819 PS, making it the most powerful and fastest Lamborghini in production.

9. Aston Martin Valkyrie

Aston Martin’s initial foray into the hypercar competition is the Valkyrie, an aerodynamic, performance-themed speed demon.
The Valkyrie blazes a new route with its over-the-top aesthetic, meanwhile Aston Martin vehicles are generally distinguished by their exquisite, rather constrained design.
It boasts a 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 1139 horsepower, as well as an upgraded carbon-fiber tub and aerodynamics package that ensures Spider performs closely to the hard-top standards.
To fit the car’s new form, the active aerodynamics and chassis aspects have been re-calibrated.
The AMR Pro has a lower curb weight than the road car, and Aston says it can generate more downforce than its own weight.

8. Rimac Concept One

Rimac Automobili was formed to push the boundaries of technology and electric powertrains, and Concept One integrates all of the company’s know-how, technology, and expertise.
The four electric motors of Concept One, one for each wheel, are powered by batteries placed along the car’s spine and behind the rear bulkhead.
The Rimac One is the fastest electric car in the world powered by a 90-kWh battery and four hub-mounted electric motors with a combined output of 1073 bhp and 1,180 pound-feet of instant torque.
This kind of performance, according to Rimac, allows Concept One to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in under 2.5 seconds and run effortlessly up to 220 mph.
Despite having a carbon fiber body, the Rimac still weighs nearly 4,100 pounds due to the batteries.
It’s also helped by a low center of gravity and four-wheel torque vectoring, which allows the electric hypercar to spin like a slot car.

7. Pagani Huayra BC

The Pagani Huayra BC is a new mid-engine sports vehicle made by the Italian automaker Pagani.
The package comprises a redesigned front splitter, a central fin merged with the rear wing, improved suspension, and a six-pipe exhaust system, all of which are meant to increase this fastest supercar’s performance on the racetrack.
Huayra’s standard four-pipe setup is joined by two additional pipes that protrude from the rear diffuser.
According to Pagani, the engine has been modified to produce 816 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque, an increase of about 8%.
The engine in the Huayra BC is the same 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-12 from Mercedes-Benz AMG that powers the standard Huayra, but with somewhat more power.

6. McLaren Speedtail

After the Senna, the P1, and the F1, the McLaren Speedtail is a limited-production hybrid sports vehicle produced by McLaren Automotive as the fourth entry to the McLaren Ultimate Series.
This coupe has the distinction of being the fastest McLaren ever produced, with a maximum speed of 250 mph. The sheet metal of the Speedtail is streamlined and styled, with an eye toward the future.
Here, a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 and an electric motor combine to produce 1035 horsepower and 848 pound-feet of torque.
Velocity mode fine-tunes the car’s engine and active dynamics to aid in achieving maximum speed.
This normal mode can also be used to lower the automobile by 1.4 inches. The acceleration capabilities of this hypercar are incredible. The Speedtail, according to McLaren, accelerates from a standstill to 186 mph in just 12.8 seconds.

5. Koenigsegg Gemera

The Koenigsegg Gemera is a four-seat plug-in hybrid grand tourer that is produced in limited numbers by the Swedish automaker Koenigsegg.
It boasts 1,700 horsepower and 2,580 pound-feet of torque and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 1.9 seconds and up to 250 mph in “record-setting” time, making the fastest accelerating car currently.
Three electric motors – one on each rear wheel and one on the crankshaft that can deliver 1,100bhp simultaneously.
The Gemera can reach 186 mph in EV rear-drive mode, and its 800V battery provides up to 31 miles of range.

4. Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut

The Jesko was designed primarily as a high-performance track vehicle with an emphasis on increased aerodynamic downforce and more accurate handling.
The Regera, Koenigsegg’s other current production model, is meant to be a grand touring vehicle.
The Jesko Absolut is a super-fast variant of the Jesko. The Jesko Attack’s rear wing is replaced with two rear fins, which reduce downforce from 1,400 kg (3,086 lb) to 150 kg (331 lb).
With a drag coefficient of Cd=0.278 and 1600 horsepower from a twin-turbo V-8, The car is Koenigsegg’s answer to the 304-mph Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+,

3. Hennessey Venom F5

The Venom F5 is a state-of-the-art automobile that was designed and produced in the United States.
The Venom F5 is a brand-new hypercar created from the ground up with one objective in mind: to be the world’s fastest street legal car.
Hennessey and the crew have created an entirely new design, chassis, and carbon fiber body that is focused on aerodynamics for the lowest possible drag.
The F5 uses a carbon fiber monocoque passenger tub with aluminum alloy subframes, similar to F1 racing cars.
The bespoke Hennessey-built 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine nicknamed “Fury” lies at the core of the Venom F5.
Precision components made of iron, aluminum, titanium, and Inconel are used in the hand-assembled V8.
The engine produces 1,817 horsepower and 1,192 lb-ft of torque when pushed to its limits. A 7-speed, single-clutch, automatic transmission transmits power to the rear wheels.

2. Bugatti Chiron

If not limited by the car’s safety limit, this beast doesn’t have any limits and it’s beyond this list.
For many years, Bugatti Chiron has been ruling the hypercar market as the #1 fastest production car in the world with a verified record-breaking top speed of 304.773 mph on 2nd September 2019 (without safety limit).
The maximum speed of 261 miles per hour of the Chiron Sport overcomes every car mentioned here, and that’s what Bugatti set out to achieve with its super-speed yet luxurious land rocket.
Bugatti powered the Chiron Sport as the “regular” Chiron by the same 1,479-horsepower, 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W-16 engine, but it carries 40 pounds light, making it a little faster.
How much is it faster? Can’t say because Bugatti electronically restricted both Chiron and Chiron Sport to 261 miles per hour in top speed mode.
Bugatti says that the Chiron Sport is a whopping 5 seconds quicker, which is remarkable, given the performance gains produced solely on its weight loss.
Just for information, In 2010, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 super sport (Bugatti’s ex-flagship) recorded a top-speed production car mark of 268 miles per hour.
On its launch, the public regarded the Bugatti Veyron as a masterpiece of engineering–a technological display showing just what was capable with an almost limitless cost.
By creating a vehicle that is even more technologically advanced than its predecessor, with the advantage of 11 years of extensive research and tradition, Bugattis will always be the top spot in almost all fastest cars in the world lists and Guinness book of world records.

1. SSC Tuatara

On October 10th 2020, according to SSC, Tuatara recorded a one-way top speed of 331.15 mph (532.93 km/h), which makes SSC Tuatara the fastest car in the world 2021.
Later, at Space Florida’s Launch and Landing Facility on January 27, 2021, the Tuatara clocked a one-way speed of 286.1 mph (460.4 km/h) and a two-way average of 282.9 mph (455.3 km/h) over a distance of 2.3 miles (3.7 km).
Shelby (SSC’s founder) explained that this is merely an update on their high-speed testing and that they occurred to set a new world record in the process. On the same runway, SSC hopes to surpass 300 mph (483 km/h).
The Tuatara was wrecked in April 2021 while returning to Florida to re-attempt the speed record when its trailer fell over in severe winds in Utah.
Twin-turbocharged 5.9-liter flat-plane-crank V-8 engine powers, The Tuatara is capable of producing 1750 bhp and 1341 pound-feet of torque.
It has a seven-speed manual transmission with robotic-controlled hydraulic paddle shifters.
